Step 1:Eating More Fruits and Vegetables
Healthy diets rich in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Moreover, Fruits and vegetables are also rich in essential vitamins, minerals, fiber and other substances that are vital for good health. According to the Juice Plus+ Guide to Better Health, Researchers continue to find nutritional elements in fruits and vegetables, vitamins and other antioxidants, phytonutrients, and fiber – that support our immune systems, improve cardiovascular wellness, delaying aging, and contribute to health and longevity in other ways.
Step 2: Get Moving with Exercise
Research shows that only 31% of all Americans exercise on a regular basis and 40% do not exercise at all. Could these findings be the reason that obesity is a major issue in America? The Good news is that, it is not to late to make changes today. It is time to get moving! The American Heart Association recommends walking, because it works and it pays. Study shows that for every hour of walking, life expectancy may increase by 2 hours. Further more, walking for as little as 30 minutes a day provides health benefits, according to the American Heart Association. In addition to walking, everyday activities such as: yard work house work and choosing to take the stairs is key to developing a regular physical exercise routine.
Step 3: Hydrate your Body with Water
Water is vital to having good health. In fact, water is a key nutrient in many of the body functions such as: regulating body temperature, transporting nutrients, helping organs to function properly, promoting weightloss, eliminating waste, hydrating the skin, lubricates joints and regulating blood pressure. In the Book, Seven Pillars of Health, Dr. Don Colbert shared benefits of drinking water and her also indicated what happens to the body when we do not drink enough water including: discs in the back begin to degenerate and herniate, blood pressure increases, digestive problems, asthma problems and so many other health problems. To determine how much water you should be drinking daily, divide your weight (in pounds) by two and the result is how many ounces of water you should drink daily.
Step 4: Reduce the Stress
According to the American Institute of Stress, stress is America’s #1 Health problem. Stress affects your health and it is vital that stress is managed. Stress affects the body in the following ways: causes excessive hair loss, gastritis, outbreaks of skin problems, mouth ulcers, asthma conditions, weight gain, muscular pain and many other health problems. Improving your diet, getting enough rest and getting adequate relaxation is a sure way to reduce stress levels in the body.
