Spider Veins – Treatment Methods
For many, the appearance and health of the legs is a very important part of living a happy and healthy life. If our legs are not in top condition, it is easy for basic everyday activities to become burdensome and painful. For many who stand for long periods of time or who have a genetic disposition, proper blood flow in the legs may not be what is should be. It is important to know that there are solutions available that can lead to healthier and more beautiful legs.
Many often find themselves sufferers of spider veins throughout life if they fit a few basic categories. Women tend to be sufferers more so than men, and likewise, pregnancy and potentially the use of contraceptives have been shown to increase the likelihood of spider veins. The cause behind protruding and obvious veins is generally unknown but it is clear that certain things may predispose an individual to getting them. Aside from being unsightly, many individuals do note aggravating sensations in their legs, including restlessness, burning, heaviness, and an overall feeling that there is a lack of proper blood circulation. Of course any time blood is not properly circulating does have an effect on the way the body feels and moves.
Fortunately, modern medicine and advances in technology have made vein care much more possible and effective. Spider veins are no longer a necessary part of life. There are effective treatments that can be implemented by health professionals. Finding a vein clinic near you is rather simple. It is important to ask plenty of questions prior to any treatments to make sure that you are familiar with the procedures and the healing process. With sclerotherapy and laser treatments, spider vein treatment is becoming simpler and far more convenient. Sclerotherapy involves injecting the veins with a solution which irritates the vein walls and causes the vein to undergo fibrosis and disappear. The solution is sterile and comprised of a saline or sulfate based solution.
The removal of spider veins is not harmful for the body as they do not serve a purpose and are generally just cosmetically unsightly. However, once they are removed, new veins can come back if pressure is put on the veins again. When blood is forced down into the veins over time, that blood can remain trapped in the veins and can cause the pain and stiffness mentioned earlier. So there is no known cure for unsightly veins as of yet and those who have already had them are predisposed to get them again. Often, spider vein treatment is not recommended during pregnancy since the veins are often under pressure and their appearance may subside with time.
Laser vein treatment does not involve injections and is quickly becoming a popular choice for vein removal. After a few treatments, the laser causes the blood to break down inside the veins and the body’s immune system breaks down any blood cells and removes them. Laser treatment may be the right choice for removing your spider veins. Find a vein removal clinic in your area to assist you with what method of vein removal is best for you.
Pubic Hair Removal – Important Methods You Should Know
These days, many men and women are interested in pubic hair removal, and are looking for the best methods out there in order to remove this unwanted hair. I will highlight some of the most commonly used methods of pubic hair removal, including the cheapest methods, and more expensive ones.
The most common method of pubic hair removal is shaving. Obviously, shaving pubic hair only lasts for a couple days before it starts to grow back fairly rough. It is the most convenient form of hair removal and the cheapest, but if you are looking for long term results, you should consider an alternate solution.
A more long term result but a more expensive one, is laser hair removal. However, some people are better candidates for this method than others. If you have light skin and dark hair, you are a better candidate for this pubic hair removal method. How exactly do the lasers work to remove the unwanted hair? a pulsating beam of light passed directly through the skin. Hair follicles absorb the light and will die eventually. Each session takes approximately 15-20 minutes. You should undergo about 8 treatments in total, each treatment done 6 weeks after the previous one.
Waxing- I know what you are thinking. “OUCH”. The pain is an obvious disadvantage to this pubic hair removal technique. The results last a couple weeks, so you might want to consider this method if you are going on a beach holiday. Another disadvantage other than pain, is ingrown hairs. Also, waxing can be quite expensive considering it is only a temporary hair removal solution. If you are going to wax the pubic region, make sure you follow these tips:
- avoid showering before waxing, test a small region to make sure there is no allergic reaction or irritation, make sure hair is about 1/8 inch long before waxing, make sure you pull back the wax strip instead of pulling upwards.
Electrolysis- This method is permanent. The technician will insert a needle that conducts electric current to the hair follicle in order to destroy it. This method is expensive, but the results are great!
Whatever form of pubic hair removal you wish to use, make sure you weight the advantages and disadvantages before deciding on which method is right for you.

Organic Beauty Products and Services
Purchasing organic beauty products and services is one more thing you can do to help reduce your footprint on the planet.
What Does Organic Mean?
Beauty products and services that call themselves “organic” must meet certain specifications. The word organic has a very specific meaning within the consumer market. Organic products must contain a minimum of 70 percent organic ingredients – ingredients grown and processed without pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides. Products must also be certified as “organic” by an independent organization. Some of the organizations that certify organic products are the USDA, EcoCert, and the Soil Association.
Sephora Organic Beauty Products And Services
Fortunately, organic cosmetics, hair products and beauty services are easy to find when you visit the cosmetics counter at the mall. The nvey eco brand, by Sephora, is certified by the Australian government and the Organic Food Chain. These products are cruelty free – an important certification for vegetarians, vegans, and animal rights activists.
The brand offers foundation, eyeliner, lipstick, eye shadow, and other products. You can make up your entire face with natural and organic beauty products. Services like organic massage and facials are possible with Juice Beauty, offering juice-based cleansers, moisturizers, masks and serums.
Assessing Organic Beauty Products And Services
Not all organic products are alike. When assessing which brand to buy, consider what the main ingredient is, and where it comes from. Consider where the product was packaged and how much oil and hydroelectric energy was consumed to bring it from its natural state to the cosmetics counter.
Buy products only from a company that refrains from testing on animals, not only for this product, but for its entire product line. Try to find out whether the natural substances in your organic beauty products are made of genetically modified organisms, or GMOs.
Natural Products
There is a difference between natural beauty products and organic beauty products. Natural products come from unprocessed sources, or sources processed with other natural products. Preservatives are usually necessary in these products to extend their shelf life. Using pump tubes and squeeze tubes minimizes the likelihood of product going bad before you can use it all up.
Home Beauty Products And Remedies
One of the most tried and true home beauty remedies is an oatmeal mask to refresh and exfoliate the facial skin. Use any kind of oatmeal and mix with water to form a paste. Leave it on your face until fully dried, then rinse vigorously with warm water.
Exploring Holistic Concepts of Health
Holistic concepts of health have been around since the beginning of time. However, as people moved from rural lifestyles of living off the land to urban lifestyles, their personal connection of mind, body, spirit and soul in relation to nature began to slowly change. The growth of urban living created interdependence amongst inhabitants and people let go of their self-reliance to care and nurture themselves. It was now possible for them to barter, trade and or pay for desired services.
This new urban lifestyle brought about a greater standard of living for many, but it also brought about a paradigm shift where people gave away personal control of many aspects of their lives to others.
In modern times, the pharmaceutical industry and medical associations further progressed the paradigm that “doctors know best” and solidified the belief in the mass population that matters of health were best left to the professionals.
Today, many people have lost their instinctual connection to the natural world around them. We live in societies where our lives are compartmentalized and people struggle to integrate their mind, body, spirit and soul. This imbalance and lack of integration and connection to our world universal laws is creating an exploding health crisis all over the world.
Fortunately, little by little, there is an awakening happening as more and more people recognize the short comings of the mainstream allopathic medical system.
Old health paradigms are being rediscovered and holistic concepts of health are reemerging. With the reemergence of holistic health, people are realizing the importance of acknowledging their mind, body, spirit and soul as a whole and not separate disconnected parts.
What are the holistic concepts of health exactly?
The holistic approach to health encompasses the belief that there is an interconnected relationship between a person’s physical, mental and spiritual aspects of life. Believers in this philosophy understand that each aspect is important and all aspects must be considered and addressed when treating health.
The allopathic mainstream system of health is a “symptomatic” paradigm. In this system, treatment is focused on a person’s symptoms and the body is viewed in separate parts. Healing the cause is not the focus, but rather management of symptoms.
In a holistic health approach, the entire person is treated as a whole with a “systemic” view where root causes are addressed in a person’s emotional, spiritual and physical life. Getting to the root of a problem allows people to address and overcome the cause which then results in healing.
A holistic health view is an empowering one for those who embark on caring for themselves with its concepts. Within the holistic health system, there are many treatment approaches and a variety of professionals that give education and guidance. The ultimate goal in any health system should be helping people regain self-control. Holistic health with it’s integrative philosophy is leading the way in this view by empowering people to regain control of their health and lives.
Cancer Treatment – The Different Types
Cancer treatment can be done through several ways. The most common ways of treating cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and monoclonal antibody therapy. Surgery involves the removal of either just the tumor or the entire organ. Mastectomy is a surgical procedure for breast cancer while prostatectomy is a surgical procedure for prostate cancer. Surgery may not be an effective treatment method in cases where the cancer may have metastasized. Tumors grow locally and then spread to the lymph nodes and eventually to the rest of the body. Palliative treatment is when surgery is used to control spinal cord compression or bowel obstruction.
Chemotherapy is another cancer treatment method. It involves the use of drugs that destroy cancer cells by interfering with the cell division. Chemotherapy targets rapidly dividing cells and is not specific to cancer cells. Chemotherapy therefore has the potential to harm healthy tissue although the cells repair themselves afterward due to their high replacement rates.
Radiation therapy or x-ray therapy involves the use of ionizing radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Radiation therapy destroys the target tissue by damaging their genetic makeup and thus deterring them from growing and dividing. Like in chemotherapy, radiation therapy also damages normal cells but they eventually heal and function as usual.
This type of cancer treatment is given in fractions in order to allow healthy tissue to recover between the periods. Immunotherapy involves several therapeutic strategies aimed at inducing the patients’ own immune system to fight the cancer. In hormonal therapy, certain hormones are blocked or provided to stop or inhibit the growth of some cancers.
